swim@ St Ambrose Closure Update
Dear swimmers and families,
We’re very sorry to share a further update regarding the St Ambrose pool.
We have now received a formal, written update from the school, which unfortunately confirms the pool will remain closed for longer than originally expected and won’t reopen until summer.
We understand how frustrating this situation is, and we are truly sorry for the ongoing disappointment.
St Ambrose’s Official Statement:
“Unfortunately, the St Ambrose College swimming pool will remain closed until summer 2026. The closure is due to issues with damaged pipework, which have now been identified and require repair by specialist contractors. While these works are being carried out, the College will also take the opportunity to complete additional maintenance in and around the pool area.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Please be assured that the College is working closely with contractors to ensure the pool reopens as soon as possible.”
Direct Debits:
We have had your Direct Debit on pause since February, and we will now pause all further payments until we have confirmation that the pool is ready to reopen in summer. There is no action needed from you.
Please do not cancel your Direct Debit, as this will result in your place being lost when the pool re‑opens.
Alternate lessons:
We still have temporary lessons available at nearby venues:
- Swim! Warrington (WA2 8RF)
- Swim@ Cheadle Hulme (SK8 6EF)
If you wish to swap over to lessons at one of these venues until St Ambrose re-opens, please complete the form, by following this link https://swim.short.gy/ambtrans and our team will be in touch to match a time and day to suit you. We’re keen to help so please do get in touch.
We’re very sorry for the ongoing disruption and we thank you again for your patience and understanding.
We’ll continue to share updates as soon as we receive them and we will welcome you back to the pool at St Ambrose as soon as possible this Summer.
With our very best wishes and sincere apologies,
The Swim@ St Ambrose Team
