drowning prevention week

2 mins read

Drowning is a serious problem that affects countless individuals around the world. In the UK alone, it is estimated that one person drowns every 20 hours, and hundreds more suffer life-changing injuries due to near-drowning experiences. This is why the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) established the annual national campaign known as Drowning Prevention Week (DPW), which aims to raise awareness about water safety and prevent these tragic incidents from occurring.

One of the most effective ways to prevent drowning is by ensuring that both children and adults know how to swim at a high enough level that they can take the appropriate action to save themselves if they ever find themselves in a life-threatening situation in the water. This is why water safety is promoted on a national scale across schools, communities, leisure clubs, and more.

Learning to swim has many perks, whether it be social, personal development, or lifesaving. Swimming is a valuable skill that can be beneficial at any age. We have a vision that every child should be able to swim 25 meters before leaving primary school. This is the core value of our company, which is instilled into every lesson they provide across the country.

At swim!, we are proud to offer premium bespoke` facilities and highly trained swimming teachers who deliver tailored lessons with class sizes of up to six children. Our facilities are designed to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all swimmers, with amenities like clean changing rooms, heated pools, and the latest swimming equipment. We are committed to providing the best possible experience for our swimmers, ensuring that they learn how to swim in the most effective way possible while also having fun.

We believe that swimming should be a fun and enjoyable journey for all swimmers. By teaching children how to swim at a young age, we hope to instil in each child the confidence and skills they need to stay safe in and around water for the rest of their lives. Swimming lessons not only provide lifesaving skills but also offer opportunities for personal growth, socialization, and physical fitness.

Water safety and drowning prevention are crucial issues that must be addressed to keep individuals safe. By promoting swimming and offering quality lessons, we want to ensure that children learn valuable skills that will keep them safe and healthy for the rest of their lives. At swim!, we are dedicated to providing modern, clean, bespoke centres and tailored swimming lessons to help achieve this goal.
